FAQ

Common questions

How quickly can care begin?
In most cases, within 3 to 5 business days of your first call. Urgent situations (post-hospital discharge, family emergency) can often be accommodated faster.
What is the minimum number of hours per visit?
Our standard minimum is 4 hours per visit. This ensures the caregiver has time to complete care thoroughly and not feel rushed. Longer visits, 24-hour care, and live-in arrangements are all available.
Can we request a specific caregiver?
Yes. Once you have a caregiver you are comfortable with, we work to keep them assigned to your family consistently. Continuity matters, and we know it.
What if our caregiver is sick or unavailable?
We have backup coverage. You will not be left without care because someone called in. The Supervisor coordinates substitute caregivers as needed.
Do you provide skilled nursing or medical care?
No. Alteza is licensed for Personal Assistance Services, which is non-medical. For skilled nursing (wound care, IV management, etc.), we coordinate with home health agencies that provide those services and complement our care.
Are services available in Spanish?
Yes. We have bilingual caregivers and bilingual administrators. Care plans, family communications, and conversations with caregivers can all happen in English or Spanish.
How are caregivers supervised?
Our care leadership team conducts in-home visits, regular check-ins, and reviews documentation. Caregiver performance and any concerns from families are reviewed continuously.
What if we want to stop services?
You can stop or pause services at any time, no long-term contracts. We only ask for 24 hours notice when possible, so we can adjust caregiver schedules respectfully.
